All-Loving Hero: A unique example in Tor, while the standard Goliath image is that of a bloodthirsty warrior.
Ambiguous Gender/ Ambiguously Human: :icongimmyjibbsjr:'s character, Reina. At the moment this character has no state race, whether the character is male, female, or something else.
Amnesiac Hero: Gorm. His quest to uncover his past drives the story of Party A.
The Artful Dodger: Irethorru, who serves as Eleftheria's "eyes and ears on the streets."
"Awesome McCool" Name: Mother Superior Eleftheria Thanatos, or if you'd prefer... Mother Superior Thanatos. Mother Death.
Baby Of The Bunch: Irethorru is by far the youngest character in the campaign.
Badass Preacher: Eleftheria. Mother Superior by day. By night, seeks to right the wrongs of this world.
Bishonen: Gorm's high charisma makes him this despite being undead.
Blood Knight: Gorm likes fighting, with it being the only thing that puts a smile on his face.
Character Alignment: This Dungeons and Dragons after all:
-Gorm is Lawful Good
-Wuunferth is True Neutral.
-Avda, Mouma, and Irethorru are Neutral Good
-Reina's isn't to make the character more of a mystery.
-Eleftheria and Torge are Chaotic Good
Bomb-Throwing Anarchists: Eleftheria technically qualifies, routinely thinking and/or proclaiming "Screw the system!" or "Blow up the system!", but has yet to cause an explosion by herself.
Child Prodigy: Irethorru, a techo wizard and the youngest character in the campaign.
City of Adventure: Alta-Gracia, the setting for Party B's storyline.
Cloudcuckoolander: Eleftheria. She's...off. A fact that makes itself abundantly clear.
Cool Versus Awesome: Gorm and Wuunferth fought when they first met. This led to a fight between a Chosen Undead who is also a Knight Radiant against a Witcher. The Chosen Undead won.
Dark Is Not Evil: Gorm is undead, but is also The Paladin and heroic figure.
Defeat Equals Friendship: After the above mentioned fight between Gorm and Wuunferth, they realized they weren't enemies.
The Empire: The Endless Empire led by Exalt-Emperor Los Urthanos–the Forger of Empires, the Starsmith, the God of All Metals, the Mithral Prince, the Adamantine Lord, the Angel of the Binding Chain, the Mad Iron Tyrant, which rules the continent of Tana'Vei and plans to expand further.
Evil Overlord: Exalt-Emperor Los Urthanos, the setting's main Big Bad. At the moment, he's merely the Greater Scope Villain hovering in the background of both parties' storylines.
Expy: The whole campaign is done with a lot races or classes that are designed after existing properties.
-:iconjarl-of-the-north:'s character Gorm is a homebrew race called a Vagabond, which essentially a Chosen Undead from Dark Souls, playing as a special Paladin modeled after Windrunners of the Knights Radiant from the Stormlight Archive novels.
-:iconchaingangofone:'s character Wuunferth is homebrew class called a Blood Hunter, which is basically a Witcher.
-:iconagimat-warrior713:'s character Adva is a homebrew class is an Incarnate, which is basically the Avatar. In a lot of ways her personality is similar to Korra.
-:icontohokari-steel:'s character Eleftheria use a Rogue using the homebrew Thiefwatcher archtype, based on The Gentlemen Bastards Sequence novels.
:iconbrave-king-shishio:'s character Torgeny is a homebrew classed called a Metallurgist, a Mistborn from the novels of the same name in all but name.
– The Exalt-Emperor's status as an immortal godlike monarch who rules the world with an iron fist and his association with metals makes him a dead ringer for Mistborn's Lord Ruler.
Fail O'Suckyname: Eleftheria. Her masked identity of Il Pinguino. It means "The Penguin".
Fish Out of Water: Mouma, a mountain dwarven druid forced into as cramped an environment as a bustling metropolis? Yeah, that'll be clashing. Then there's Adva, who finds that no one on land really cares if you're a princess under the sea.
–Fish Out of Temporal Water: Gorm, having been reanimated after centuries, so he experiences a hell of a shock.
Fish People: Adva
Foil: :iconbrave-king-shishio: states that designed Torgeny to be the exact opposite of Scorpius from Disney D20. To quote the DM "Where Scorpius was a lanky misanthropic asshole, Tor is a huggable teddy bear of a muscleman who LOVES everyone!"
Glamour: Gorm keeps his undead nature hidden under a glamour.
God-Emperor: Exalt-Emperor Los Urthanos.
Growing the Beard: The DM feels that The Steel Forgives is where she improved her skill at running a campaign compared to her earlier works. For a clear illustration, there are no amusing "behind the scenes" asides. The recap is written as a pure novelization of the game.
-The DM also learned better to let the players set the course for the campaign and suffer from any Rail Roading.
Hero of Another Story: This is what both parties are to one another, two stories in one large world.
Heroic Comedic Sociopath: Eleftheria tends to have kind of...sadistic tendencies that're played for laughs. Especially aimed towards one child, Dario.
Ho Yay: Gorm and Wuunferth have what the DM has already described as a bromance, with their Defeat Equals Friendship and Wuunfreth departing from his usual work of hunting monsters to help Gorm reach the Profane Keep in the upper territories of the Endless Empire.
I Don't Like The Sound of That Place: Profane Keep.
Illegal Religion: Implied, as the only religion worshipped on Tana'Vei is the Religion of Exalt-Emperor Los Urthanos.
Jerkass Woobie: Adva is an Alpha Bitch and a Smug Super. But she's also a victim of a lot of Laser Guided Karma, so the players quickly felt bad for her.
Just Like Robin Hood: Eleftheria steals from the rich in Alta-Gracia to give to the poor.
Large Ham: Wuunferth, whom speaks in a faux Elizabethan manner, like the Mighty Thor in the Silver Age of Comic Books. So picture his voice as that of Thor's VA in Marvel animation, Rick D. Wassermann.
Laser Guided Amnesia: Gorm suffers from this, not remembering why he died in the first place.
Lovable Alpha Bitch: Adva was stated in the flashback sessions to turn into this. She's royalty, and she's the Avatar with the serial numbers filled off. But is a kind person once she lets her arrogance wear off.
Magic Knight: As a Paladin, a Blood Hunter and Metallurgist, both Gorm, Wuunferth and Tor respectively augment their combat prowess with magical abilities.
– To a lesser extent, the same is true of Eleftheria, as a Thiefwatcher she's a Rogue with minor Cleric spellcasting ability.
Mama Bear: Eleftheria is fiercely defensive about those who're under her care. Even a point of empathy with another character.
Meaningful Name: Exalt-Emperor Los Urthanos is a reference to the cosmology of William Blake. Urthanos especially refers to Urthona, a blacksmith god.
– Eleftheria Thanatos refers to Greece's motto "eleftheria i thanatos," or "freedom or death." Perfect for a Chaotic Good thief, isn't it?
– Tor's full name is a European Mythology double whammy: Torgny is Norse for "Thor's noise," while Grendelhook is a reference to the famous monster Grendel.
– Gorm is a Celtic word for blue, and it's pronounced phonetically as "Gor-em," like the word golem. Appropriate for a reanimated husk, isn't it?
-Eleftheria Thanatos, a reference to the Greek motto "eleftheria i thanatos", which means "freedom or death".
-Skye's name is twofold in its meaning. Not only does it sound phonetically like the word "Sky" (Gorm's name combined with Skye's in that sense creates Blue Sky), but she is also named for the Isle of Skye, which in the Ulster Cycle is where the Warrior Queen Scathach resides. You know, the woman who trained Cù Chulainn, whom Gorm is partially based on. Furthermore, in some versions of Celtic mythology, the Isle of Skye is also where the gates of the Underworld are located. I don't know about you, but I find it rather fitting that the undead man's closest companion is named for the gates of the underworld, in a sense.
Neutral No Longer: Wuunferth, much like the Witchers he is based on, is typically neutral with regards to politics. Meeting Gorm changed that and now he aims to help his friend reach the Profane Keep.
Off the Rails: Discussed, then upheld as a praiseworthy example of Tropes Are Not Bad. The game became more excited when it was split into two stories!
Our Mermaids Are Different: Adva's species are "Tritons," basically sea-elves.
Our Zombies Are Diffferent: In Gorm's case, he's a divinely empowered walking and talking corpse with gravity manipulation powers.
Religious Bruiser: Eleftheria leads a church in her day life.
The Paladin: Gorm.
Platonic Life Partners: Elly and Tor. She openly refers to him as her favorite, but it doesn't seem to be in a romantic sense.
Pragmatic Villainy: The Endless Empire is typically hostile towards anything that doesn't fit with its religion, hence the hostility towards Adva, as they consider the Incarnate to be heresy. But they tolerate Blood Hunters because they are efficient at killing monsters.
Really Seven Hundred Years Old: Gorm, if you consider that he was brought back from the dead hundreds of years after he was killed.
The Red Baron:
– Wuunferth, "Son of the Forest."
– Mouma, "Mother of the Mountain."
Semi-Divine: Adva, being the Avatar Expy.
Simple Yet Awesome: Splitting the players into two parties turned into this. This allowed the campaign to have a much greater number of players than the usual D&D campaign without the party's size making it hard to get a session going.
Smug Super: Adva firmly believes she's entitled due in part to her upbringing... and being the Incarnate. The universe frequently proves her wrong.
Spanner in the Works: :iconjarl-of-the-north:, unintentionally.
The Theocracy: The Endless Empire is implied to be one with the lack of tolerance towards anything that doesn't align with its religion.
Token Human: Eleftheria and Gorm are the only humans in the main cast, and even then Gorm's an undead revenant. Meanwhile, Reina may or may not be human at all.
Try To Fit That On A Business Card: Exalt-Emperor Los Urthanos–the Forger of Empires, the Starsmith, the God of All Metals, the Mithral Prince, the Adamantine Lord, the Angel of the Binding Chain, the Mad Iron Tyrant. That is far too many titles even if the last one was just something his enemies labeled him with.
War Refugees: All of Party B.
What Could Have Been: Originally the campaign was meant to be a low level campaign played with characters meeting in the city Alta-Gracia, get intersected by a ship, fight off said ship, and then make it to the city dirt poor. From there they would work to make this city their new home. But everyone, DM included, got bored with that and then the game turned into a series of flashbacks. Then one :iconjarl-of-the-north: derailed the game with a tale of his character suffering from Laser Guided Amnesia and started heading north. This forced the DM to re-write everything as the north was meant to be saved for later. The DM solved this by having the campaign divide the players into two parties with adventurers on other sides of the world, whom may or may not even meet. One party led by :iconjarl-of-the-north:, consisting of Gorm, Wuunferth, Avda, and Reina, will focus on uncovering mysteries in the north, and the other led by :iconbrave-king-shishio:, consisting of Torgeny, Eleftheria, Irethorru and Mouma, will be in the city in a plot that will be like Dragon Age 2 but without the BS. As they say, no plan survives contact with the enemy, so it's best to have friends as enemies so they will improve your plans.
Ye Olde Butchered English: Wuunferth verily speaketh like this, all the damn time.

Chapter 1A
Ambiguous Situation: Is the Fey talking to Gorm real, or just a figment of his imagination? Gorm himself doesn't seem to know.
An Arm And A Leg: As Gorm leaves the asylum, one of the other undead inmates tries to grab him, and as he pulls free he rips that undead inmate's arm off.
Black Comedy: Gorm casually mentions having one of his pinkie toes chewed off by a rat "a few centuries ago."
Bloodless Carnage: Gorm's struggles with the undead inmates has them losing limbs, but no blood. Justified as they are undead who have decayed so much they don't even have any blood left.
Dem Bones: It is, repeatedly, empathized Gorm is more bone at this point.
Groin Attack: Attempted on Gorm by one of the inmates.
Nightmare Fuel: We see Gorm's corpse before he comes back to life, it isn't pretty.
Reality Ensures: The asylum Gorm's dead body was in has long been abandoned, so his cell door is so out of maintenance that he's able to just push it open.
-The undead inmate that attacks Gorm is a walking corpse, so it doesn't take much for break it's leg apart.
-Gorm being undead means his body is not the fighting shape it was when he was alive. Being dead for so long has also left him out of practice in a real fight.
Refusal of the Call: Gorm gets a Call To Adventure from a small Fey, and his first reaction is that the Fey has the wrong guy, until he regains some of his memory.
Sophisticated as Hell: Gorm's speech is initially somewhat formal, even respectful... until threatened with violence or subject to slapstick.
–"When the gods send an invitation, it would be the height of rudeness to ignore it– (trips on atrophied legs) FUCK!"
Squick: Just about everything related to Gorm's body.
Shout Out: Fitting that Gorm is an essentially a Chosen Undead from Dark Souls, he comes back to life in an asylum like the player does in the original Dark Souls.
-Our hero gets a Call to Adventure from a Fairy Companion visiting him, referencing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This also references the Fairy Companion in Stormlight Archives, which the DM in convinced was also referencing Zelda.
Tropyfing :icongamemasterfel:'s side campaign where almost everyone is playing as something based on an existing IP.

Oh, and add as an addendum to Growing the Beard...
