"I'm going to have Batman do things to you... that he never even knew he was capable of."

Fuck Doomsday.

So I've mentioned this guy several times in earlier match ideas list, but I haven't made a bio for him because I can't find as many feats for him as I would like. So I'll settle for doing a match idea list.

Despero started as an insignificant alien dictator who ruled a planet called
Kalanor. Back then he wasn't much of a threat, despite his psychic powers making sound pretty dangerous, with the Justice League thwarting him time and time again without much difficulty. That changed once he was empowered by the Flame of Py'tar, turning him from goofy looking fashion victim villain to a hulking giant, and a nobody dictator to the most prominent team wrecker in the DCU. Since then his mission in life has been to kill the Justice League and destroy all life on Earth. That goal has become so all consuming that avenging his earlier defeats doesn't really matter, just killing the Justice League of itself is enough for him, which incidentally allowed Martian Manhunter to stop him once through a deus ex machina where he convinced Despero had killed the Justice League and all life of Earth. Naturally that didn't work when Despero eventually saw through it.

Power wise, Despero can almost be summed up as Gorilla Grodd on steroids. He's a powerful psychic, having displayed the usual range of pyschic powers, telekinesis, telepathy, psychic blasts, but is most known for his mind control. Lex Luthor, Martian Manhunter, and Batman have all fallen to his power. Even if he can somehow be killed, Despero's astral form can stay around to hijack his enemy's body.

Physically, Despero was probably the strongest recurring enemy of the Justice League. Doomsday is most well known for a fight where he and Superman killed each other? That's cute, Despero has wrecked entire line ups of the Justice League multiple times, including Superman. Prior to Flashpoint, which seems to have nerfed him, the Justice League and other heroes of Earth have never actually been able to defeat him in a direct confrontation, they always used some trick. He has consistently proved more powerful than the heavy hitters of the Justice League, and by the same token, they still have failed to put him down. When I said Despero can almost be thought of as Grodd on steroids. Aside from the astral form, the other power he packs that Grodd doesn't is a downright insane healing factor, letting him regenerate from almost nothing. Along with his astral form and refusal to stay dead until he's gotten his revenge, this is why the Justice League has never been able to kill for good.

Despero doesn't have any major weaknesses aside from his arrogance, because if you are strong to stomp the entire Justice League and make them your mind controlled slave, that power would go to your head. In terms of intelligence he certainly isn't the league of the schemes like Sinestro and Darkseid, but he's by no means dumb.

That said, Despero seems to have gotten much weaker Post Flashpoint because Martian Manhunter beat him on his own, as opposed to getting wrecked like when they fought before the reboot. Also he went about creating a suit of Nth metal armor for himself, the previous continuity he didn't seem like the type who would need armor.

I don't have any plans to use Despero right now, but I'll list off ideas anyways:

https://images.fandango.com/MDCsite/images/featured/201604/Doomsday-comics-900.jpg
Doomsday: Yeah I took shots at Doomsday, doesn't mean he's not viable as an opponent. Can he prove himself the superior juggernaut, or will end up the like the Man of Steel when he faces Despero?

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/02/Brainiac_%28DC_Comics%29.png
Brainiac: The smartest mind in the DCU vs the most powerful psychic, and Brainiac has had his moments where he's gone full unstoppable juggernaut as well.

Darkseid: For years the answer would be obvious in Despero's favor, but the reveals during Final Crisis put Great Darkseid well above Despero's level, but I felt I might as well list him.

https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/arrow/images/6/6e/The_Flash_season_2_poster_-_Zoom.png/revision/latest?cb=20160216183048
Hunter Zolomon/Zoom: Contest of speed versus strength. Zoom makes the Flash look like a snail, and Despero makes Superman look like a lightweight. And if anybody wonders, I'm only using the CW image because I like the costume better.

Gorilla Grodd: Stomp, but I've seen characters with similar powers suggested in match ups before so I don't see why it can't be done with an in-universe match up.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/44/Juggernaut2.PNG
Juggernaut (Marvel): Not sure how even this fight is or if it would even end since both combatants have healing abilities that make them almost immortal. But they still fit the bill of "enemy that can't be defeated by direct combat" requiring some tricks, or cheating, to defeat almost everytime they appear.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/72/Ultron_Avengers_Age_of_Ultron_poster.jpg
Ultron: Or throw this badass whose known for wrecking whole lineups of Marvel's premier superhero team the same way Despero is.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mMmrHbOP9Bs/maxresdefault.jpg
Thanos (""): Thanos is more the scheming mastermind than a team buster most of the time, but like Despero he has still wrecked the heroes of his universe multiple times.

https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/marvelcinematicuniverse/images/9/99/F_70783.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130130070513
Destroyer (""): Not a team wrecker, but the Destroyer is The Juggernaut to Thor and the only times it's been beaten head on, as far as I know, are when Thor had the Odinforce and when it was used against the Celestials.

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/dragonball/images/1/1b/Golden_Frieza_full.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/180?cb=20170403224005
Frieza (Dragon Ball): Probably not the first Dragon Ball villain that comes to mind, but here me out. Like Despero, Frieza was an alien despot, than he had a meddler from Earth muck in his ways, and he's since become driven to get his revenge at any cost. Though unlike Despero, Frieza actually had plans for after getting his revenge.

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/asuraswrath/images/5/52/Asura.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/204?cb=20120610143630
Asura (Asura's Wrath): You've got a villain who refuses to die thanks to his undying hate, and a hero who refuses to stay dead because of his undying anger.

The following were suggested by :iconallcreation104:

https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_small/3/31666/832092-irredeemable.jpg
Plutonian (Irredeemable): They are both driven by irrational hate to destroy all in their path, and have psychic powers, though Despero's are part magic.

https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/3/33308/1125018-megatrons.jpg
Megatron (Transformers): Stomp, even if you threw every version of Megatron at Despero, but it's still two alien despots who for their own reasons have their sights on Earth and depending on the version, Megatron is just as a determined to exterminate the planet as Despero.

The following were suggested by :icondynamo1212:

https://1d4chan.org/images/thumb/c/cc/Lord_of_Mankind.jpg/400px-Lord_of_Mankind.jpg
Emperor of Mankind (Warhammer 40000): Two psychic dictators, or ex-dictator in Despero's case. Either way he's a walking support for the Emperor's argument against aliens.

https://i.annihil.us/u/prod/marvel//universe3zx/images/2/29/Vulcan_442x300.jpg
Vulcan (Marvel): Hate driven psychic dictators.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/48/Apocmessiahwar1.png
Apocalypse (""): Nigh unstoppable team busters with psychic powers.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/cd/Lindamcquillen_.jpg/250px-Lindamcquillen_.jpg
The Fury (""): Killing machines, literal machine in the Fury's case, that do not stop until the enemy is dead, or they are dead.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/A3rXWm61JOY/maxresdefault.jpg
Gorr the God Butcher (""): Both of them were insignificant beings, then they found a source of a great power that let their hate driven killing sprees run across the stars. Difference being that Gorr was ultimately a sympathetic character, meeting Despero would likely remind him that the evil in the universe isn't limited to gods.

https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/c/c9/Many_Forms_of_Buu.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130805141941
Majin Buu (Dragon Ball): This is specifically aimed at Evil Buu and Kid Buu. Like Despero they are nigh unkillable alien menaces intent on destroying out planet, only they are more ambitious and what to destroy everything else as well.

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/dbz-dokkanbattle/images/0/04/Stained_Rose_Super_Saiyan_Ros%C3%A9_Goku_Black.png/revision/latest?cb=20161117235534
Goku Black (""): Arrogant godlike beings driven their hate.

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/7/7c/%21Destoroyah_0.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150309062128
Destroyah (Godzilla): Two living engines that won't stop until they've killed the protagonist and everything else on Earth.

The following were suggested by :iconoodark-dawnoo:

https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/7/7b/Magnus-1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20161205070527
Magnus the Red (Warhammer 40000): Another nigh unstoppable psychic powerhouse, plus the sheer irony of doing a fight where a follower of Chaos is the less evil of the two villains.

https://kaiju.wdfiles.com/local--files/wiki:spacegodzilla/spacegodzilla_1994_01.jpg
Space Godzilla (Godzilla): Evil psychic alien kaiju vs evil psychic alien supervillain.

That's all for now. Any takers? Any suggestions?
I do a match idea list for an underrated badass I didn't I could find enough specific feats to make a bio for.
