Ryu
Age: Varies (typically isn't given but always presented as being in late teens)
Height: 5'8
Weight: 144 lbs

Feats
-Ended the war started by the Dark Dragons
-Obtained dragon forms by winning trails by combat
-Shamans attempts at fusing with strong warriors was unsafe with Ryu because he was so powerful the results destroyed the forest they were experimenting in
-Defeated the goddess Myria, twice
-Took on the giant demon Barubary one on one, the strongest demon besides Deathevan, and won
-Defeated Deathevan, a spawn of Myria fed by the world's negative feelings and worshipped by other demons as a god
-Defeated Fou-Lu, a god who forged an empire through combat process and shrugged off a weapon of mass destruction that left entire regions uninhabitable and sword forged from the remains of a god
-Defeated the regents who obtained their positions through power, two who fought and won against dragons in the past
-Fought against other dragons, one of which was a literal living weapon of mass destruction, and won

Black Mage: That's not a highly visible ninja or a martial artists in a white gi! That's five characters with blue hair.

Momoyo: Four characters with blue hair, all of them Ryu, plus a fifth one not in that picture.

Black Mage: Oh I get it, this is a composite of all his incarnations. So lets have the usual backstory where we mix the different character's origins.

Baneslayer: There isn't one.

Black Mage: Why?

Baneslayer: I couldn't think of one that combines being from a clan of dragons who spend most of their time as humans till their unlock their powers, part of a god brought in from another world through a flawed summoning and a human drawing power from a living weapon of mass destruction. So instead you'll be giving the backstory.

Black Mage: What the? Fine. Breath of Fire has three continuities, the first one is threatened by the evil goddess Myria and a bunch of do gooder dragons show up to stand in her way. Since she offers power the dragons split into a dark and light factions, the Dark Dragons trying to free her and of course wiped out most of the Light Dragons. Then Ryu showed up and formed a party of adventures and defeated all the Dark Dragons and Myria. To spite the world she left behind some, thing-

Momoyo: Thing?

Black Mage: Not that thing! Did you do that on purpose?

Momoyo: Of course I did.

Black Mage: Well Myria didn't create a the crime against nature known to mankind as The Thing-

Baneslayer: We apologize to any fans of the movie offended by that remark.

Black Mage: She created something that didn't have a solid form until it fed off enough the negative emotions around the world. It then became Deathevan, a being the demons who used to worship Myria switched to following as their god and helped him starting up a fake church called Saint Eva that channeled the energy of mortal prayers to him letting him grow stronger. All the while he would turn people with enough negative feelings into demons to cause more negativity. It was a great system that perpetuated a cycle of violence, hate and evil that would eventually make Deathevan strong enough to break the seal the dragons used to keep him from reaching the world's surface and kill everyone and everything, but then Ryu came and wrecked it all. Somehow Myria survived this, don't ask how, and despite nobody but the dragons and demons even seeming to remember who she was she got a new set of followers-

Baneslayer: She did turn over a new leaf, though exactly how she went from heartless manipulative sociopath who played with mortals desires and created a demon that tried to destroy the world, to misguided extremist, is anybody's guess.

Black Mage: Yeah, anyways Myria decides dragons are too dangerous since they have powers that they might miss use so she creates a bunch of dragon slayers to kill them. And they were terrible, the dragons were way stronger than any of her creations and could slaughtered them, but like a bunch of idiots they decided to let themselves get killed because they agreed their powers were dangerous.

Momoyo: Power isn't something to be ashamed of.

Black Mage: Says the girl who used a mob of people as Tertis blocks.

Momoyo: At least I don't go murdering innocent people.

Black Mage: Whatever. Ryu survived the extermination and grew up learning about Myria trying to wipe his kind out and decided to go ask why. She offered him to let him live on her space station and keep his powers or live on Earth without them, but he decided fuck it and kept them and killed Myria when she tried to kill him. Yes I left out some details, I'm just giving the short version.

Baneslayer: In another world Ryu was born from the flawed summoning a god named Fou-Lu, appearing centuries after the Fou-Lu appeared. He initially had idea who he was until that world's version of his ally Deis gave the necessary exposition to him and the viewers. When Fou-Lu was driven despair after repeatedly suffering the worst of humanity, Ryu and his party were there to stop him from destroying the world.

Black Mage: And in some other world Ryu was actually an ordinary human who just drew power from a dragon in a world where dragons are man-made weapons that left the surface of the planet uninhabitable for god knows who long and after meeting a living air cleaner named Nina he decides to go fight a war against the government to get her to surface.

Momoyo: Seems like a good reason with how cute she was. Ryu had all the best known fighters in the world standing in his way, but he beat all of them and even took a dragon himself before finally getting Nina to the surface that had finally healed from the damage the dragons inflicted on it.

Physicality

Strength
-Punched people across rooms
-Wielded large swords
-Always among the strongest physically fighters in his party
-Hurt Deathevan's humanoid form with a slash across the face
-Hurt Fou-Lu, whom at full strength appeared impossible to damage

Durability
-Withstood gunfire
-Fell over a hundred feet off a bridge and survived
-Withstood attacks from gods and weapons of mass destruction

Speed
-Has moved too fast for people to see him

Baneslayer: Most of Ryu's notable feats come from his dragon forms, but he is far from helpless. He has punched people across rooms, while fiction always depicts that as harmless getting hit like that would kill human in the real world, and can has harmed Fou-Lu who at full strength previously appeared impossible to damage, a super weapon called the Hex Carronade that wiped the entire forest he was in only enraged him a sword formed from the remains of imperfectly summoned god had no effect on him despite impaling him.

Black Mage: But moving away from how awesome Fou-Lu is and how badass this makes Ryu for hurting him, being an RPG lead and the first character the player he controls he naturally a strong fast physical damage dealer and always one of the strongest and most characters in and out of story. Besides the whole gods and demons thing, he also been shot and once fell over a hundred feet off a bridge, and all it did was knock him out for a while.

Momoyo: Nothing of note regarding speed, most of feats aren't in his human form. But in battle he is always fast.

Weapons:

Tri-rang
-Presumably a triple-bladed boomerang but the game's sprites don't depict it that way
-Second highest damage of any weapon in the original Breath of Fire and hits all enemies making it by far the best weapon

Royal Sword
-Recurring weapon that is the strongest weapon Ryu can use in I and II, and the second strongest in III
-Can be used to call down lightning to hit all enemies or drain health from a target
-Hits twice

Gooking Sword
-Recurring weapon dropped by the Gooking that is Ryu's strongest weapon in III and IV

Dragon Blade
-Recurring weapon that's Ryu's best weapon in Dragon Quarter
-Boosts Ryu's stats and lets him use a single target fire spell called Flame Strike that summons a column of fire

Black Mage: What, no images?

Baneslayer: We're talking about a series of two two-dimensional JRPGs, they typically don't have images for weapons and this series is no exception. But Ryu's weapons not having artwork is no reason to assume their harmless. We'll be listing the recurring weapons, plus one overpowered weapon from the original.

Momoyo: The Tri-Rang is Ryu's best overall weapon in the original game. It doesn't have the highest damage per hit, but everytime he throws it hits all enemies, so it doesn't need to be.

Black Mage: One of his strongest recurring swords the Royal Sword, often used by royalty, as from doing a lot of damage, has had different magic abilities whenever it shows up, using a lightning attack or draining health. Also somehow it hits twice, don't question it it's a JRPG.

Momoyo: The *snicker* Gooking Sword, hahahahaha! Who named that?

Black Mage: Hahahaha! I have no idea.

Baneslayer: That weapon is named for the rare monster that drops it, though it doesn't have unique traits. The last weapon will cover is the Dragon Blade. We won't go into all the mechanics for it in Dragon Quarter, but put simply when they will make it he strongest sword Ryu can use in that came and boost his stats. He can also use it to summon a column of fire

Armor

Life Armor
-Provides a defense that's among the highest of any armor while also healing him almost constantly

Dragon Helmet
-Recurring helmet that gives a high defense boost, also resists fire damage

Aries Gloves
-Gloves that increase defense and give a bonus to attack power

Dragon Shield
-Shield that gives very high defense boost and resists fire damage by 25%

Baneslayer: Ryu has had more armor, gloves, shields and gauntlets than anybody here has the patience to sit through the naming of.

Black Mage: I can attest to that. So we're sticking with what gave him the most defense, except this one called the Life Armor that gradually heals him, in and out of battle when run it as a composite, while still having some of the best defense.

Abilities/Magic
-Cure: Heals minor damage
-Heal: ""
-Cure 2: Heals moderate damage
-Purify: Heals poison
-Protect: Raises defense
-Rejuvenate: Heals medium damage
-Shield: Raises whole party's defense
-Raise Dead: Chance of reviving an ally
-Remedy: Cures all status effects
-Vitalize: Heals medium damage on whole party
-Barrier: Raises target's magic defense
-Restore: Heals heavy damage on target
-Resurrect: Revives dead party member
-Vigor: Heals heavy damage on whole party
-Bonebreak: Powerful physical attack on single enemy, but can only be used once every three hours
-D-Drive: High speed dash that pushes enemies aside

Black Mage: Oh look another hero who specializes in hippy peace loving healing magic rather than good black magic to murder everything in sight.

Momoyo: Ryu doesn't need offensive magic, he's strong enough to handle himself with a blade, and it would take away from AP he needs for his dragon abilities.

Baneslayer: The same can be said of his healing magic. He can learn an array of support spells, but he always has party members better suited to that role. It's only worth noting since it means he can heal himself if he needs to.

Skills
Skilled Swordsmen, getting by in many fights on his skills with a blade and not using his powers as a dragon
Level 1, consume low AP
-Slice: Basic physical attack
-Side Slice: Low damaging swing that hits everything in front of him
-Thrust: Fixed 25% normal attack damage regardless of enemy defense
-Ogre Slice: 75% Critical hit chance at cost of 50% accuracy
-Kick: 75% attack damage that knocks enemies back
-Rust Armor: Attack damage lowered to 80% in exchange for lowering enemy defense by 5%
-Third Eye: Ensures next attack will hit
-Dent: Attack damage lowered to 80% to lower enemy attack by 5% (Rarely works)
-Act Delay: Attack damage lowered to 80% to lower enemy speed by 5%
Level 2, consume more AP
-Vert Slash: Lowers accuracy to 80% with power raised to 130%
-Wild Swing: Randomly does 50% to 200% damage
-Fang: Does 40% damage regardless of enemy defense
-Hazecut: Damage raised to 120% and accuracy raised by 50%
-Spirit Charge: Raises next attack by 50% damage
-Discharge: Records damage taken throughout a battle and inflicts on an enemy
-Crimson Raid: Restores HP by 10% of damage dealt
-Skullsplit: Deals a 125% damage and damages enemy AP stat (against enemy without that could translate to damaging some other stat used for skills)
Level 3, consume HP AP
-Deathbringer: Attack does a 125% damage, critical hit does a 100% damage if it hits
-Roundsabre: Does a 150% damage
-Circle Stage: Hits a circle around Ryu

Shield Skills
-Anger: Automatically powers up the next attack
-Counter: Counters an enemy attack automatically with a specific Level 1 attack skill
-Explosion: Destroys a shield to damage an enemy
-Feint: Negates the damage of the first physical attack that hits Ryu
-Leech Power: Ryu gets 5 AP everytime he gets hit
-Shield Boost: Raises Physical defense everytime Ryu gets hit
-Valor: Allows a character to automatically revive if KOed once per fight
-Weapon Boost: Boosts Ryu's damage everytime he gets hit

Expert Fisherman (seriously)

Baneslayer: Ryu is an adept swordsman and fishermen, having won numerous fights without even relying on his dragon forms.

Black Mage: So he's got a bunch of fancy sword skills, but he can't use them all at once, being limited to the number slots for skills on a given weapon.

Momoyo: But these still more damage than his basic swings and give him some more flexibility, even if they sadly lack the flair of attacks in other RPGs.

Black Mage: And he's an expert fisherman? Are you serious?

Momoyo: Yes, that is his main recurring skill outside of battle.

Black Mage: That's a ripoff. Why even bring it up?

Momoyo: Lots of other people bring up things that aren't relevant so there's no reason for us not to.

Evocation
-Summons one of the Endless, godlike entities summoned from another world who take the form of dragons in our world whose mere presence has left power that turned rocks into sentient beings
-Can only be summoned once per fight

Black Mage: Okay we mentioned Fou-Lu was a god but technically he's called an Endless-

https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/sandman/images/2/24/EndlessFamily.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110402012052

Black Mage: Not one of them, because I know somebody in the comments will make that joke. These are beings some people summon from another world to do some task, then they turn into dragons and stick around in the world they were summoned to and, do whatever it is a dragon nature spirit thing does like roam, accidentally turn rock formations into monsters, and make a deal with Ryu to help him once per fight.

(Skip to 5:42 for the dragon attacks)

Fulguration/Great Point
-Immobilizes enemy in a magic circle and fires a circle of magic sphere that does gravity damage based on enemy HP

Black Mage: You seriously went to the trouble of getting images for summons?

Baneslayer: I need to show images for something since I couldn't get any for weapons.

Dragon Transformations

https://41.media.tumblr.com/8f737b1f2308cf2a2f52aa5a8039b6e5/tumblr_n3souwuCTw1trisiho1_400.jpg
-Fully heal Ryu when used and increase his health and if he's beaten he reverts back to his human form, but can't use that form again
-Greatly enhances his strength
-Can only take any real damage from dragons or similar strength entities

Black Mage: Took us long enough to get the character's signature ability and the reason behind his damn name.

Baneslayer: Ryu's power to become a dragon changes every game. For purposes of this fight we are taking all the strengths from each game that cancel out most of the weaknesses.

Black Mage: And if you don't like, it's our fight so sue us.

Baneslayer: Sue him! He's not the one who just got fined for unlawful planetary destruction.

Momoyo: No lawsuits, we already got our salaries cut and I has fired from my last job.

Baneslayer: Fair enough... Back on topic, when Ryu assumes a dragon form he is fully healed any damage and if the form's health is depleted, he simply goes back to his human form. He can't use the beaten form again in the same fight, but he has more than enough forms to use that only a fool would try to outlast them.

Black Mage: Well he's never lucky enough to fight anybody that stupid and they always try to kill him before he can transform. Too bad they aren't smart enough to just run since his dragon forms can only harmed by another dragon. Or some other notable weapon of mass destruction but it has to be a damn good one.

Baneslayer: Generic RPG enemies are never known for their common sense, otherwise they would not have kept trying to fight him or Fou-Lu and we would have had an exceptionally boring game.

Momoyo: Well any cowards dumb enough to pick a fight with an indestructible that can rip apart steel probably deserved to die.

Gains the following abilities:
-Vortex: Claw swipe that does double the damage of his normal attack
-Hurricane: Sweeping claw swipe that hits a group of enemies. Same damage as Vortex
-Twister: Double hit sweeping claw swipe. Does double Vortex's damage
-D-Charge: Charges up the next attack and multiple charges can be stacked
-D-Breath: Dragon Breath, longer it's charged before firing the more damage it does. Destroyed the dragon Chetyre who proved immune to all other attacks.

Momoyo: Ryu doesn't use weapons as a dragon since his claws do far more damage any of his swords, especially with if uses D-Charge before hand. Two or three charges and anything he attacks will be in pieces when he's done with it.

Black Mage: That does mean standing still while charging, but you can count the number of things he meets that can hurt him on one hand, it's just a matter of whether they go gentle.

Baneslayer: Less frequently used is the D-Breath since it takes a long time to charge. Typically D-Charge and using a claw attack does more damage, but if got in a situation where he needs more right away he can contentiously D-Breath while still firing it. This allowed him to destroy the dragon Chetyre when all of his other attacks failed to damage to it.

Depending on the elemental form take has different attributes
Fire: immune to fire but takes extra damage from ice
-Fire Breath: Fire elemental breath attack
-Flame Claw: Single hit fire attack against a single target
Ice: immune to ice but takes more damage from fire
-Ice Breath: Ice elemental breath attack
-Ice Claw: Ice elemental claw against single target
Lightning Whelp, immune to lightning
-Thunder Breath: Electrical breath attack
-Thunder Claw: Electrical attack against one target
Dark: immune to darkness, poison, instant death, but weak to light
-Dark Breath: Attempts to cause instant death, doesn't work on undead or machines
-Chlorine: Poisons a target
Light: immune to light elemental attacks but takes more damage from darkness
-Divine Breath: Holy elemental breath attack against
-Shining Claw: Holy elemental attack on a single target
Protect:
-Counter: Automatically counters any attack
Magic: focuses on healing
-Remedy: Cures status effects
-Restore: Heavy damage from one target
-Vitalize: Heals medium damage on whole party

Baneslayer: Most of Ryu's forms have a different set of abilities depending on the element the form is based on. His non-elemental forms don't have this, but they typically don't need them.

https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/bof/images/e/e8/BoFII_PuppyArtwork.png/revision/latest?cb=20130722214813
Whelp
Basic form Ryu typically starts with and stops using when he gets better ones
Still stronger than Ryu's human form
All forms have
-Whelp Breath: Non-elemental breath attack
-Blind: Blinds enemy

Black Mage: Whelp? What self-respecting shape-shifter calls a transformation the whelp?

Baneslayer: Ryu isn't the one who named these, so it's sadly out of his hands.

Momoyo: Well even the Whelp looks cute it's still stronger than his human form and has a breath attack that hits all enemies, though its damage it based on his current HP.

https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/bof/images/1/18/BoFIII_DragonArtwork.png/revision/latest?cb=20130722205319
Dragon: larger, stronger adult dragon form
All version have:
-Dragon Breath: Non-elemental breath that hits all enemies. Stronger than Whelp Breath.
-Snap: Physical attack that lowers target's defense
-Counter: Automatically counters any attack

Black Mage: Now that is more like it. The dragon, dragon form, is a monster I would send to burn/freeze/electrocute some highly populated area. It's bigger, stronger, and tougher than that puny whelp and Ryu gets it he has no reason to use the Whelp anymore.

https://lparchive.org/Breath-of-Fire-III/Update%2012/9-SLUS_004.22_18012013_203546_0713.png
Trygon: Gold super dragon with all the Fire, Ice, and Lightning elemental breathes
-Above average HP among Dragon family of forms
-Stronger overall than other Dragons
-Immune to fire, ice and lightning elemental attacks

Black Mage: That's not a Trygon, this is:
https://pre09.deviantart.net/2ce6/th/pre/i/2014/009/c/8/trygon_by_lordhannu-d71hcog.jpg

Momoyo: Why are you bringing in that thing you called, what did he call it?

Baneslayer: An ugly overprice snake that corporate greed forced him to buy.

Black Mage: To scare people with its hideous visage. But enough about that abomination, lets talk about this load of awesome that is the Trygon! This thing combines the power the fire, frost and lightning elements into a super dragon that is stronger than any of them and can use any of their elemental breathes.

Black Mage: It's beautiful. Except for the ice.

Baneslayer: Along with being much more durable than the standard forms of its kind it's also immune to the elements it uses.

https://www.uffsite.net/bof4/images/Behemoth.jpg
Behemoth: form that trades off speed for physical strength, defense, and lots of HP
All versions have:
-Meteor Strike: A Behemoth's version of a breath attack. Stronger than Dragon Breath.
-Blitz: Does multiple physical attacks at half strength against all enemies. Loses half its HP.
-Charge: Does damage based on the Behemoth's high defense
-Searing Sand: Physical earth elemental attack
-Phatoh: Earth magic attack against all enemies
-Chi-Phatoh: LV2 earth magic attack on all enemies
-Counter: Automatically counters physical attacks

Baneslayer: The behemoth changes focus from being all round stronger than Ryu's human form to focusing on destructive power and durability. It's the only form that's actually slower than his human form, but it has much higher HP than the rest of his forms.

Momoyo: And remember that his breath attack is based on his current HP-

Black Mage: Or summoning of meteors in this case

Momoyo: So it's massive HP means that it's meteor strike will do massive damage.

https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/bof/images/0/0e/Mammoth_Dragon.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110312001618
Mammoth: Stronger version of Behemoth
By far the highest HP of Ryu's transformation, but has less defense than Behemoth
Same attacks, minus Blitz and charge, but also has:
-Patoh Pah: LV3 Earth magic against all targets
-Giant Growth: Attack hits multiple enemies

Black Mage: Ryu needs to come up with better names for these things. His dinosaur form's upgrade is named after something that makes people think of elephants.

Momoyo: It does at least fit based on the theme of big strong and slow, having by far the most HP of any of his forms, though it has lower defense than Behemoth. But that massive HP means it will do far more damage.

https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/bof/images/9/9e/Flamewarriordragon.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20141030104318
https://img08.deviantart.net/c607/i/2004/169/9/6/aura_from_breath_of_fire_4.jpg
Warrior: Smaller humanoid form designed for single enemies
-Strength on power with Behemoth, has the highest speed of any of Ryu's forms by a wide margin
-Downside of having only slightly more HP than a Whelp
All forms have:
-Focus: Boosts next attack for 50% damage. Can only be used twice per attack, but costs no AP unlike D-Charge
-Aura: Holy damage that always does a critical hit
-Gambit: Causes a critical hit but has a low hit rate

Black Mage: Ryu's Warrior form turns him into a furry and, wait, isn't that artwork a picture of Fou-Lu?

Baneslayer: I could not any artwork of Ryu's Warrior form, and Fou-Lu's intermediate dragon form looks almost exactly like except for the narrow wings.

Black Mage: Fair enough.

Momoyo: Ryu's Warrior form is best for killing bosses. It's as strong as the Behemoth and while also being his fastest form, and uses abilities that focus on dealing damage to a single target. It would be suited for an honorable duel if he ever got into any.

Black Mage: But as you'd might guess from its appearance it can't take much damage, only being a bit sturdier than a Whelp.

Posted Image
Myrmidon: Gold Warrior that trades off speed for extra HP and the highest attack of any of Ryu's dragon forms
Has all of Warrior's abilities plus:
-Flame Strike: Fire attack on one target
-Thunder Strike: Electric attack on one target, paralyzes
-Frost Strike: Ice attack on one target, causes sleep
-Wind Strike: Wind attack on one target
-Holy Strike: Holy attack on one target
-Aura Breath: Holy breath attack determined by target HP
-Meta Strike: Wind breath attack that ignores defense
-P'ung: Wind magic against one target
-Nah P'ung: LV2 wind magic against all targets
-Spirit Blast: Melee attack at 1/3 strength that ignores enemy defense

Black Mage: Another gold form, this almost makes him look like a Super Saiyan crossed with a demon.

Baneslayer: Turning Super Saiyan comes later. Myrmidon actually sacrifices some speed, but in exchange brings its HP closer to the regular Dragon forms. More importantly it brings a massive increase in power with the highest attack strength of any of Ryu's transformations.

https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/bof/images/b/ba/BoFIII_TiamatArtwork.png/revision/latest?cb=20130804160412
BoFIII TiamatFrontIdleSprite
Tiamat: Extremely powerful dragon form with high stats in all areas
Immune to status effects
-Doom Breath: Breath attack damage that does more damage the higher Ryu's HP is and ignores defense. Tiamat more than doubles Ryu's HP
-Venom Breath: Poisons all targets
-Shadow Breath: Attempts to instantly kill all targets, doesn't effect undead or machines
-Highly overpowered

Momoyo: That's not a five headed dragon goddess!

Baneslayer: No but it's just as deadly. This form is an overpowered with its massive HP and ability to kill all enemies instantly.

https://img13.deviantart.net/1b08/i/2005/192/f/9/kaiser___colored_wallpaper_by_not_an_angel.jpg
Kaiser (for some reason called Rudra in I, named a Hindu god whose name means "The Mightest Terror," and in II called G. Dragon)
Ryu's most powerful overall dragon form, and coolest looking. Immune to status effects
-Kaiser Breath: Massive damaging attack that ranges from a barrage of fire birds, meteors, causing an explosion or firing a barrage of lasers. Ignores defense and is never actually depicted as a breath weapon
-Bonebreak: Same as human Ryu's attack
-Howling: Attack that causes confusion
-Aura Smash: Melee attack that ignores defenses and causes a critical hit
-Hwajeh: LV3 fire magic on all enemies
-Ahryu P'ung:. LV 3 Wind Magic on all enemies
-Patoh Pah: LV3 Earth Magic on all enemies
-Resurrect: Revives an ally with full HP
-Sanctuary: Removes ability boosting spells on all foes and allies

Baneslayer: Now we come to the cream of the crop. Kaiser is in every game Ryu appears in, though that is not readily apparent since the localization team changed its name in the first games for ill-conceived reasons. It's appearance changes from any of the forms shown here to just giving Ryu gold hair till he uses its breath attack.

Black Mage: Baring a form that we're keeping out to keep this fight from becoming TOO unfair, this is Ryu's strongest dragon form. It hits the hardest with its lasers, or meteors or whatever it calls down, sometimes hitting max damage, and ignores defense. Some other forms might do something better than it, Behemoth and Mammoth make better tanks and Myrmadin hits harder with physical attacks, but this thing ups them at everything else.

Weaknesses
-Impulsive
-Many skills require AP, if he runs out his options are very limited
-Despite not being phased by seeing people turn into demons, couldn't stand being forced to eat cooked bugs

Baneslayer: Ryu has power but lacks in forethought. He typically charges into situations without thinking ahead, his impulsiveness best shown in Dragon Quarter when he decides to effectively wage a one man war against the government of the known world for the sake of saving Nina. If not for his dragon powers he would have died very quickly.

Momoyo: But he won and rescued the cute girl, and beat up lots of people who had it coming like he always does.

Black Mage: But a lot of his dragon abilities come from his AP stat, if he runs out there's a lot less that he can do and many of his breath attacks are based on his current HP so if he takes a beating then he's not going to hit too hard.

Baneslayer: Nonetheless even with his weakness, Ryu has save his world five times. He may need allies, but it does not change that he has beaten gods and what is essentially a living nuclear bomb. Join us next time when we cover his opponent the Dovah'Kin.

Black Mage: Which shouldn't be long from now unless we experience more technical difficulties.
The whole prelude was too big so I'm uploading it in two parts even though I already made a bio for Ryu.

I'm pretty sure in BoF III the elder Jono said that if the brood were to not hold back they can destroy the world. I really dunno if a single dragon can do that...but it's possible...
